Mr. Burton is the immediate Past President of the NFD & MA, recently elected to the Chairman of the Board at the 2007 annual national convention in Philadelphia, PA.

He held the seat as the 60th and Youngest President of the NFD & MA. Howard was elected to the office of Corporate Secretary of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association in 2003 at the Birmingham, AL convention. He has served as the 5th District Governor and the president of the Alabama Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.

Mr. Burton is from Tuskegee, AL. Howard attended Florida A&M University where he earned the bachelor's degree in business administration. He later matriculated at Auburn University at Montgomery where he earned the master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance. Howard divides his professional schedule between McKenzie's Funeral Home, where he is vice president and Burton Promotional Products where he is the president.

Howard is a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he is treasurer. He holds membership and office in various other organizations such as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., 100 Black Men of American, Tuskegee Area Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club International, Optimist International, Florida A&M University National Alumni Association, and Lewis Adams Lodge #67 F&AM.
