Cornelia L Thomas, 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went home to glory on June 26, 2026. She was Born February 12, 1937, in Seguin, Texas to Isaac G and Annie Miller.

Growing up, she attended Lincoln Ball High School, in Seguin, Texas. She remained proud of her alma mater throughout her life and continued to stay actively involved as a committee member for her class reunions.

Cornelia met Sammie J. Thomas, of Gonzalez County and they were married on February 19, 1955. To this union three sons were born, Kenneth Thomas Sr. (Ivy), Stanley Thomas (Patricia), and Jeffrey Thomas Sr. (Pat). From them, they gained seven grandchildren, Katrina, Shantail, Dorseth, Katamra, Jeffrey Jr., Dekia and Meme. They also have seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as four godchildren, Lark (Denise), Roxanne (Roosevelt), Tommy Jr., and Roshawn, and their children along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

After moving to Corpus Christi, she united with Shiloh Church of God in Christ, where she remained a devoted member for 55 years. Throughout those years, she faithfully served in numerous ministries and leadership roles. She served as the District Dean of the Women’s Department, President of the Souvenir Program, Women’s Ministry President and Treasurer of the District Usher Board. She was also a Sunday School teacher and served in the Hospitality and Food Departments, she was a Pastor Aid for Prayer Warriors, and supported the Junior Usher Board. Her unwavering faith, servant's heart, and dedication to the church left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She also attended Del Mar College, where she studied to become a secretary. She later worked at the Women's Shop, where she was a dedicated employee for more than 20 years.

Cornelia Thomas was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Sammie J. Thomas, her parents, Isaac G and Annie Miller, sisters, Littie Collins, Ruth Holmes, Dora Miller and brothers, Issac Henderson, Issac Miller, AJ Miller, Ernest Miller and Claude Miller; one grandchild, Kenneth Ray Thomas Jr.; one great-grandchild, Heavenly Raye Lewis; and one daughter-in-law, Roslyn Hines Thomas.

Her life was a testament to faith, service, and love, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
