Justen Wright, born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, has made significant strides in his community. Graduating from Alexis I. DuPont High School at 16, he earned an associate degree from the American Academy of McAllister Institute of Funeral Service and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Wilmington University.


At 20, Justen became the youngest licensed funeral director in Delaware, following an apprenticeship with his father, Robert O. Wright, I. At 24, he became the youngest City Councilman in Wilmington’s history, representing the entire city as an “At Large” Councilmember.


Justen is a second-generation owner/manager of House of Wright Mortuary & Cremation Services, Inc. Justen is licensed to practice funeral service in the states of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Family-owned House of Wright has been serving families for over 35 years, growing to three locations under Justen’s leadership.


Justen is deeply involved in his community. He is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; NFDMA Vice President; NFDMA Immediate Past District II Governor; NFDMA Former Membership Chair; NFDMA Former Co-Chair PAC & Legislative Committee; NFDMA Former State of Affairs Committee Chair; NFDMA Administrative Finance Committee Chair; Past President of Delaware State Funeral Directors Association; and Immediate Past Secretary Garden State Funeral Directors Association. He also participates in organizations like Ezion Fair Baptist Church, Nu Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Mercer County Community College Funeral Service Advisory Board Member and Nu Friendship Outreach, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting inner-city families. He is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) and has been featured in Delaware Today Magazine, City Life Magazine, and Nomis Publication.


His community service has been recognized by the Markevic A. Johnson Scholarship Foundation, the Newark Chapter of the NAACP, and the Mid-Atlantic District of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc.  Justen is married to Trista, and they have two sons, Justen, II and Alex Wright.
